Vintage signed ARDMORE CERAMIC STUDIO South Africa hand-made folk art large ceramic platter/bowl. This piece features two hyenas perched on the edge with a beautiful protea flower and hyena painted background. The protea is South Africa's national flower. I am subjectively interpreting these as hyenas because of the spots and large ears. The figures are more dog-like than cat-like. Absolutely charming!

It has been displayed as art for twenty years since acquired at a gallery in Johannesburg. Excellent condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs.
