Description
This is a Saucer in an antique Mason Ashworth pattern. It is marked on the back in red writing B2366. It is hard to make out that last number, might be the pattern mark. The saucer measures approximately 5" in diameter.
In the interior there is a raised cup rim that is approximately 2-1/4" inside diameter, to hold a cup in place.
The saucer has both an incised the words "ASHWORTH, REAL IRONSTONE CHINA" and the stamp with the crown and A.BRP.
As far as I can tell this has a rather broad manufacturing
circa 1862-1891. There are other marks in red and incised as well, which might narrow down the time period.
It is in very good antique use
d condition free from alterations and repairs. The gold on this piece is excellent.
The stand is not included.
As an antique, this may have some typical and expected factory original manufacturing imperfections possibly including glaze dimples or peppering, dark glaze specs, variations in pattern color or gilding, or other very minor flaws. None are visually distracting, unless mentioned above.
