fans, here's a chance at a TRULY RARE item !!
The backstory:
These autographs were gotten in
February, 1954. After the Braves came to Milwaukee in 1953 my family became
big baseball fans - my older brother (a Braves fan), and his best friend (a White Sox fan) - went to spring training down in Bradenton and Tampa, Florida areas back in Feb. 1954 with our Dads, and chased after autographs for a few days while the Dads sat and drank beer (according to my brother !)
This is a great
chance to get a great lot of White Sox
autographs - along with some VERY HARD TO FIND signatures as well !

Tom Hurd - VERY TOUGH Autograph - Never played for the White Sox - traded to Boston in 1954. Died in 1982. ZERO autos of him on eBay in a White Sox uniform !
Paul Rich
ards - Last year as M
anager of Sox. Died in 1986.
Dixie Howell - VERY TOUGH Autograph -
Got sent to
the minors before the season started, and didn't play in '54. Died in 1960.
Bob Proell - ??? - Can't find any info on him. Camp invitee that got cut in Spring Training ??? Possibly the only autograph he ever signed ???
Ron Jackson - 1954 was the
Rookie Year for Ronnie with the ChiSox. Deceased.
Ray Berres - Pitching
Coach for nearly 20 years with the White Sox. Deceased.
Luman Harris - 1954 was the last year for Lum as 3rd base coach for the Sox. Died in 1996.
Bill Wilson - VERY TOUGH Autograph in White Sox uniform - only had 58 at bats for the Sox - traded midway thru 1954 season.
Ferris Fain - Last season as First Baseman for the Sox. Tough autograph in White Sox uniform. Died in 2001.
Bob Keegan - 1954 All-Star Pitcher that won 16 games. Died in 2001.
Jack Harshman - 1954 was first year with Sox - won 40 games his first 3 seasons in Chicago ! Deceased.
Minnie Minoso - Hall of Famer !  Great BOLD autograph - The 'Cuban Comet' signed it Orestes Minoso ! Deceased.
Sherm Lollar - 9 Time All-Star Catcher,
Sherman is a very tough autograph because he died in 1977.
Fred Marsh - Hard autograph - utility infielder that was traded after '54 season. Deceased.
Harry Dorish - Fritz was a starting and relief pitcher for the Sox. Hard auto. Died in 2000.
Tom Wright - Back-up OF to Minoso, Thomas was traded in late Spring Training of  '54. Tough auto in White Sox uniform. Deceased.
Sandy Consuegra - Was 16-3 as a pitcher in '54 and made the All-Star team. Deceased.
Miguel Fornieles - TOUGH autograph. Pitcher for the Sox.  Died in 1998.
Chico Carrasquel - 4 Time All-Star Shortstop was traded after '55 season to make room for Luis Aparicio ! Deceased.
Billy Pierce - Bill was a 7 Time All-Star Pitcher, and holds numerous records for the Sox. Nice bold autograph ! Deceased.
Bob Wilson - 1954 was the last year for Red as Catcher for the White Sox. Traded to Tigers in May of '54. Deceased.
Jim Rivera - 'Jungle Jim' played OF for the Sox for 10 years ! Deceased.
Break up value on these as 'cut' autographs is phenomenal !!
Autographs have tape on them - that was a common practice back then to 'preserve' them - much like shellacking baseballs back in the 1920's and 30's was done.
