Description
Pleased to offer a Dramatic Mason's Ironstone Dessert Dish in the difficult to find Water Lily Pattern; circa 1815-20. These brightly painted shell shaped pieces are so imaginative and so much fun to decorate with; nothing else looks like them. This dish measures 7.5" by 11" and makes a statement. There is a hairline at 11 o'clock from the lotus and a small underside ding in the same area. There are three stilt marks; two are hard to find, one shows under the lotus, and an odd "skitter" down from the top one. The Mason's mark did not take on this piece; it's just a big, long blur; it would date the piece around 1814. Overall, a delightful, fun piece. Enjoy !!!!
