MAKER: Charles James Mason circa 1813-1815 - dated from the hallmark which is the earliest transfer printed mark without the Mason name.
PATTERN: Mandarin or Mongol - pattern can be seen in Haggar & Adams'

MATERIAL: Ironstone with rich overglaze polychrome enamels
PIECE NAME: Rim Soup Bowl
DIMENSIONS: 9 5/8" across and 1 5/8" tall.
CONDITION: This bowl has an underside rim flake (photo 8) and some crazing and staining to the base (photo 7). It otherwise shows very little use or wear. It does have manufacture defects under glaze including the rough surface visible in photo 9 and a large nibbled portion of the rim (front is visible in the bottom of photo 4 and the reverse in photo 11). Beautiful coloring!
