    Description

A fine Bohemian hand blown art glass vase dating to early
    twentieth
    century
    . A
fantastic piece and an extraordinary example of Art Nouveau art glass at its finest.  I am not positive of the glasshouse that produced this exceptional vase; though the craftsmanship is superb. The lower and underlying section of the vase has the Loetz "Papillon" décor
with a pulled swirl similar to the pulled feather moving upward. The vase has a very nice texture as shown in photos. The colors are brilliant with peacock blues, purples and greens.
This piece is spectacular, the iridescent finish creates a rainbow of color when exposed to any light source.
The vase is unsigned, as were many of the pieces from this era.
Photos do not capture the true beauty of this fascinating vase!
The vase is considered to be in overall excellent condition, as there are no cracks, chips or restorations. I received an inquiry regarding the darker spots/areas in the vase, these are present throughout the piece. I am not an expert in this field; however, I have inspected the vase carefully, there is no damage. The darker spots are part of the pulled swirl/papillon or oil spot
    décor
or created during the production process of this vase. Measurements are approximately 6" - 7" tall.
If you are a collector of Bohemian Art Nouveau period art glas
s, this is an exceptional piece and you will not be disappointed.
