    decoration, the base is purple with a dark blue overlay which gives a great petrol color effect. On the vase a large enamelled Art Nouveau flower decoration of water lilies in green and blue. An extra small decoration on the edge. The vase is mouth-blown and ends on the top so there is no pontil on the bottom. Not a signature, but easy to recognize as a Fritz Heckert vase. Size: 4.72 inches (= 12.4 cm high) - 2.76 inches (= 7.7 cm) in diameter at widest point History: Fritz Heckert was born in 1837 as the eighth son of the master glassmaker Johann Andreas Heckert (1789-1852) in Halle an der Saale. Seven of the nine children worked in the glass industry. After the death of his father, he went to Berlin at the age of 15, to his brother Carl Ferdinand. There he learned the trade from a merchant and appointed himself as a manufacturer from 1863. In 1862 he bought a glass mill, the so-called Felsenmühle am Zacken near Petersdorf on the edge of the Giant Mountains; In 1866 he founded his glass refinery in Petersdorf, which he was able to expand into a large glass refinery with sometimes 200 employees, which also had a glass-blowing factory from 1889. Fritz Heckert died in 1887. Glass production: His widow, then son-in-law and from 1905 son Bruno Heckert continued the business.     This is a great Fritz Heckert Art Nouveau vase with enamelled flower decoration, the base is purple with a dark blue overlay which gives a great petrol color effect.
